Although written so beautifully and reads like a novel, Behind the Beautiful Forevers is a this story of the lives and struggles that people face in a Mumbai slum will take you into the hearts and minds of real people. Living inches from a luxury hotel and an ever expanding airport these people do what they can to survive. Fighting disease and corruption you find different facets of people from hopeful college students trying to get out to young children and women just trying to make it through each day. A very beautifully written piece of work by Katherine Boo is a definite must read.
